Once designed merely for efficiency with little attention to beauty, today's kitchens & baths have become paramount to a home's comfort and style, places to nurture body and spirit.

Without a doubt, today's larger kitchen is the real family room, the heart and soul of the home. Some kitchens serve as the control center in "Smart Homes"  wired with the latest technology. With the kitchen as a focal point of the home, good design means the room must be both functional and a pleasure to be in, while reflecting the "feel" of the rest of the home. From the European "unfitted" look to the super-high tech, there are styles and finishes to make every taste, sophisticated to simple, feel at home in the kitchen.

Designing a kitchen tis intimate undertaking, filled with many important decisions based on personal habits and family lifestyle. That's why we feel that it is important for one of our Interior Decorators or contracted Interior Designers to plan out your kitchen with you. However, if you already have a general idea of what you want one of our Project managers can create sample drawings, where we would then transfer them to a floor plan using our CAD  (Computer Aided Drawing)  program to show you what your kitchen would look like upon completion, and if  your current plans are even possible.

DREAMS: The Design Phase

Every remodeling project starts in your head and heart.

Drawing your ultimate goals and ambitions for the project out of you …
… hearing you say, “That’s it – you’ve got it!” …
… that’s what the five-step Design Phase is all about. Here we go!

1. Begin With the End in Mind

Build Your Dreams with the Remodeling CompanyCall it a desire, a need or a want – it’s your remodeling project, and we’re here to bring it home.

So let’s get together to discuss your project. We want to know everything! Tell us about

  • Your current situation - what are you dealing with right now?
  • Your vision of the perfect remodeling project
  • Your budget requirements
  • Your design tastes and preference

We’ll come over to measure and photograph your existing space, and then it’s on to Step 2.

2. Passing the Torch

You’ve given us your first directions, and now our award-winning design team takes the lead. In our hands, your initial feedback becomes a design concept, a set of drawings, an optimum project plan.

And we can’t wait to share it with you - that’s Step 3.

3. The Dream Is in the Details

Come in for a cup of coffee, and let’s go over your drawings. Some of them offer different design options and product choices, and we’ll walk you through the pros and cons for each. By the end of this session, you’ll be able to make confident design decisions that fit your desire and your budget.

And that will bring us to Step 4 . . .

4. Know What to Expect

Dreams do come true with The Remodeling CompanyYou’ve narrowed down the choices, and we’ve folded them into one final presentation for you.   We'll deliver professional drawings so you’ll see exactly how your final project will look. And you’ll learn what’s coming up in the process:

  • How we’ll handle your construction
  • How we’ll solve any problems
  • How we’ll deliver the project of your dreams

But before we begin the build, there’s Step 5.

5. Trust, but Verify

You don’t want any mistakes to hold the project up or slam you with additional costs. And neither do we. So last, but certainly not least, you’ll receive a Product Selection Sheet for confirmation. It’s the complete breakdown, including:

  • Cabinet and countertop colors
  • Flooring styles and colors
  • Hardware selections
  • Roofing, window and siding colors
  • Plumbing and lighting fixtures
  • Paint and tile selections

Bottom line: You’ll know exactly what to expect from us when we go to Phase 2.

DELIVERED: The Build Phase

From concept to construction! Your project is fully in our hands, and we’re ready to roll with it.

6. Failure to Plan Is Planning to Fail

With your final approved design in hand, our team kicks into high gear. Design transforms into detailed construction plans. We’ll get the building permits for you, too.

Building is easy with The Remodeling CompanyAnd any specialized needs you have (like structural engineering) are also built into the production planning system for your project at this point. If you’re anything like us, you want your project to run smoothly at every stage.

And then, in Step 7, we bring in the big man …

7. Your Single Point of Contact

Your Lead Carpenter. The only person you need to know. The one who’ll manage your whole project on-site. Our clients love their Lead Carpenters, and we think you will, too.

We’ll bring your Lead Carpenter up to speed on your entire project, from plans to schedules to specific design requests. And then it’s time for you two to meet – that’s Step 8.

8. Getting Down to Business

You don’t just get to know your Lead Carpenter at the pre-construction conference – you get to know how every single step of your project will be carried out, with your Lead Carpenter at the forefront. Here’s what your Lead Carpenter will do for you:

  • Explain the production procedures, so you know how the project will flow
  • Review your project specifications to ensure your satisfaction
  • Review your project construction plans for your approval
  • Coordinate the production schedule with you
  • Promptly answer your questions and address any concerns

Then the G.M. Roth team gets to work. While your project moves steadily to completion, you’ll get progress reports along the way – what we like to call Step 9.

9. Communication Is the Key

Your Project Delivered by The Remodeling CompanyDifferent projects involve many different professionals to complete the work. Your Lead Carpenter is the communications leader of your project, making sure information flows smoothly to everyone involved in the project – especially you.

Quality work, without costly misunderstandings – you get this through weekly job recaps, mid-project evaluations and walkthroughs, and worksite safety reviews.

And the work flies on. Then the day arrives – almost sooner than you ever expected. It’s the day you go through Step 10.

10. Dreams Delivered

Your project, completed. Is it everything you wanted? Did we just get the job done – or go over and above to superior performance for you? We hope so, but we want to be sure. So we’ll walk through it once more with you, and get your final feedback.

We want all our customers to know that we do not pull our prices out of our head, we calculate our costs using a computer program that compiles the time, labor, material, & national average along with our operating costs to provide our customers with a fair and competitive rate. Many times we will be under bid by so called "professional" companies that work without any licenses, insurance, permanent address, and more or less have just decided to be call themselves professional assemblers or installers one day. PLEASE BE AWARE! We aren't distributors for major companies because we just called them up one day and said we want to sell your products. In most cases we had to go through a background check, the company would call references of past clients and current companies we deal with, as well as require us to provide some type of proof of our insurance, license, and ability to represent their company in a professional manner. In closing please always remember.... Quality isn't expensive, it's priceless! We Would be happy to provide you with a FREE Estimate over the phone if you provided the Make, Model, and number of cabinets needing installation. If you request a Certified Kitchen Planner to come to your home or office and measure the area, make notes and suggestions, and provide you with on site options we charge $69.00, and if you would like to receive Computer Automated Drawings of your proposed kitchen the cost would range from $49-$149 depending on the kitchen size and cabinets.

PLEASE READ THE BELOW INFORMATION
Please note that the prices above reflect basic cabinets with basic shelving & drawers. By that most cabinets come with one or two shelves, and base cabinets come with one to three drawers depending on the unit. If you call and say you have 5 base and 4 wall cabinets, we believe you are referring to basic cabinets. If we arrive upon the work site and two of the cabinets are actually pantries with 6 drawers each and you want covers applied, the rate will be affected. It is important that you have a drawing created preferably by a professional stating exactly what you have, what needs to be done, and what the finished kitchen is to look like. Our team of experts will do everything within their ability to complete the kitchen as described on the design, but please keep in mind that it is not always possible and changes must be made. WE CAN GET YOU THE BEST PRICES ON YOUR CABINETS!!!!! We are an Associate Dealer for the following Brands Kraftmaid Cabinetry, ArchwAway, Norcraft Cabinetry, Somersby Cabinetry, Ultracraft Cabinetry We can provide you with a custom made, solid wood kitchen for the prices most retailers are selling particle board.  WE Encourage You Read This Before Starting Any Kitchen Project. Design We've provided the answers to some frequently asked questions about kitchen design. If you can't find the information you need here, feel free to contact us and a one of our friendly staff will do their best to assist you. How can I make my kitchen reflect the architectural style of my home? EZ Furniture Assembly & Interior Innovations LLC offers a guide describing the characteristics of different architectural styles and recommending complementary kitchen cabinets, countertops, flooring, and architectural details. How can I get more storage space in my kitchen without changing the floor plan? Properly planned cabinets with the right accessories can dramatically increase your storage space. Choosing drawers instead of base cabinets and going for cabinets taller or deeper than the standard models will provide more space. To make that space more usable, check out the growing number of cabinet accessories, including:

  1. * Mixer shelves * Rollout shelves * Fixed-shelf, pullout, foldout and rollout pantries * Narrow pull-outs that look like posts or pilasters when they’re pushed in * Plate racks, spice racks and wine racks * Lazy Susans * Pullout wicker and wire baskets * Toekick drawers * Pullout trash and recycling bins * Cutlery compartments and utensil dividers * Tiltout panels in front of the sink * Vertical dividers for storing trays and baking sheets
  2. How do I find and choose a designer? Use EZ Furniture Assembly & Interior Innovations LLC , get recommendations from friends and family, or ask us to see pictures of previous kitchen projects we completed. We use several designers that charge different rates, but they are all licensed professionals and when it comes to something as important as a beautiful kitchen, Quality isn't expensive, it's priceless! However, we will decide which designer would work best with your ideas and budget and arrange a meeting for you to decide.
  3. We've provided the answers to some frequently asked questions about setting and sticking to budget for a kitchen remodel. If you can't find the information you need here, contact us. How much does a new or remodeled kitchen cost? Room size, floor plan, product choices and amount of labor required all affect the costs. If you're starting from scratch, the project obviously will cost more than if you just replace a few items. However, a remodeled kitchen can cost more than a new one if it involves major structural change or unpleasant surprises such as asbestos. Like a car or clothing, kitchens can cost $5,000, $50,000 or $150,000. You can keep the price down by making affordable product choices—vinyl flooring instead of tile, laminate counters instead of granite—or by doing work yourself. We have found that a majority of our clients choose Ikea cabinets and we can normally assemble and install a basic inner city Ikea kitchen for between $1200.00 and $2000.00
  4.  How much do EZ Furniture Assembly & Interior Innovations LLC charge? We will come out and take measurements, look at the overall condition of the walls, the work that needs to be done, the extras you may decide you want or need, and then provide a quote. However, if you choose a interior designer we will have to wait until the both of you have agreed on a layout and then we will use their drawing to calculate your costs. You can get a ballpark figure by looking above at our basic cabinet assembly & installation prices. Why do some designers and contractors want me to pay for design or even an estimate, while some provide this service for free? A free estimate cannot be more than a ballpark figure. Room size, floor plan, material choices and feature options all affect costs, and until you have made your product selections, it is impossible to give a definite price. So if you choose someone who provides a free estimate, be aware that the final price tag typically is higher than the initial estimate.
  5.  Someone who offers free design may not be providing as much assistance as someone who charges for design. For a simple kitchen where the floor plan is not changing, a sketch with measurements and suggestions for door styles and counter colors may be sufficient. If you want a unique kitchen with custom elements such as an intricate tile backsplash, if the project involves any additions or structural work, or if you're trying to create a specific period look, you're asking the designer to invest a lot of time and effort to create floor plans, elevations and other drawings. They'll want to be compensated accordingly. That's whay at EZ Furniture Assembly & Interior Innovations LLC we give you the choice to have our project manager give you a quote for a basic assembly, or put you in contact with one of our designers who will provide much more assistance and detail.
  6. How can I finance my project? Your finance options include cash; a personal or bank loan; a loan from your credit union or insurance company; a loan from a savings and loan institution; refinancing your mortgage; a second mortgage; a home equity loan; a home equity line of credit; and a Federal Housing Administration loan. Your designer, builder or financial planner should be able to refer you to reputable brokers. What will I get for my money on a kitchen remodel? What return on investment can I expect from my kitchen remodel? Less than you could a year ago, unfortunately, and that goes for both questions. Forget the quick flip—you're not likely to get a 100 percent or more return on a kitchen unless you hang on to the home for at least a year afterward. Both costs and return on investment vary depending on where and how you spend your dollars and the strength of the local housing market. However, the annual Cost vs. Value Report—a joint study done by the National Association of Realtors—provides some national averages. Minor Kitchen Remodel, Mid-Range The 2006 report puts the national average price of a mid-range minor kitchen remodel at $17,928, averaging a return of 85.2 percent a year later. The 200-square-foot kitchen includes: refacing 30 linear feet of cabinetry with new wood doors, drawers and hardware; new laminate counters; new resilient flooring; an energy-efficient wall oven and cooktop; a new mid-priced sink and faucet; wall covering; and new paint on trim. Major Kitchen Remodel, Mid-Range A major kitchen remodel at a mid-range price will run an average of $54,421, according to the report. A year later, you can expect to recoup 80.4 percent of that. The 200-square-foot kitchen includes: a new 3-by-5-foot island; 30 linear feet of semi-custom wood cabinets and laminate countertops; a double-bowl stainless-steel sink with single-lever faucet, an energy-efficient wall oven, cooktop, ventilation system, built-in microwave, dishwasher and garbage disposal; custom lighting; new resilient flooring; and new paint job for the walls, trim and ceiling. Major Kitchen Remodel, Upscale Price tag: $107,973, according to the report, with an ROI of 75.9 percent. The 200-square-foot kitchen includes: 30 linear feet of custom cherry cabinets with interior accessories; natural stone counters; a tile backsplash; a built-in refrigerator, cooktop, 36-inch range and hood, warming drawer, trash compactor and microwave/convection oven; an undermount sink; designer faucets; water filtration system; custom lighting; cork flooring; and cherry trim. Construction I've heard that living through a remodeling project is a nightmare.
  7. How can I prepare? Common homeowner complaints include dust, delays and additional costs. To combat dust, pack up and move your kitchen before construction, then protect what you can’t remove. You or your contractor can seal off nearby rooms with plastic sheeting and tape. Ask that the construction area be swept daily. Good communication is essential to staying on time and on budget. If you are doing some of the work yourself, clarify up front who is doing what, from demolition to pulling permits to painting. Decide which entrances and bathrooms the workers should use, and notify them of children and pets. Leave a notebook and pen in a designated area so you can leave messages for the contractors (and vice versa). Make sure you can still eat: set up a temporary kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, coffee-maker, table, trash can, non-perishables and paper goods. A crock pot, pre-made frozen meals and restaurant coupons will also help you get through the project.
What can I do myself? When do I need to hire professionals? One-person projects that don't require power tools can be handled by most homeowners: painting, switching out cabinet hardware, replacing a faucet or weather-stripping windows and doors. Add an electric drill and you're installing shelves, window treatments and other decorative accessories. One more factor in your decision: many manufacturers will invalidate a product warranty if the product is not installed correctly. For small items you might be willing to take that risk, but for several thousand dollars worth of appliances or cabinetry, you may not want to chance it. Pros of do-it-yourself (DIY) work: * Save money on product markup, labor costs, contractor profit * Feel pride and satisfaction in doing it yourself Cons of DIY work: * Takes longer if you can only work on weekends and/or evenings * Risk of underestimating skill, time, materials and tools required * If you get friends or family to help, you're liable for any injuries How long does it take to complete a kitchen remodel?
There are two main phases to a kitchen remodel: design and construction. The length of the former is typically up to the homeowner, and his or her ability to make decisions and stick with them. Given that a new kitchen is a major investment, you're entitled to take your time choosing colors, finishes and features. Just remember that products can't be ordered until you've made your final decisions. Some custom products and materials may require lead times of up to nine months. Custom cabinets typically arrive in 12 to 16 weeks; semi-custom in eight to 10 weeks; and stock in four weeks or less. Once the products do arrive, expect construction to take anywhere from two to 16 weeks, depending on how ambitious your project is and on how many setbacks you encounter. We at  EZ Furniture Assembly & Interior Innovations normally deal with stock or custom stock cabinetry that we can get installed from 3-7 days.

Products:  What is the difference among stock, semi-custom and custom cabinets? These are the three basic types of cabinet construction. Stock cabinets are constructed prior to purchase, come in standard sizes and are typically the most affordable. Expect limited wood species, door styles, accessories and finishes. They are usually available within one week of being ordered. A step up from stock, semi-custom cabinets have more sizing options and a wider range of door, finish, and wood selections. They also cost more. Expect to wait at least one month for delivery. Custom cabinets are either made by a custom manufacturer or by a local woodworking shop. They come in any shape, size, material or finish your designer can dream up. Custom is typically the most expensive type of cabinetry and usually takes at least six to 10 weeks to deliver. There are so many different materials and brands of countertops—how do I decide which is best? Your primary considerations should be your cooking and entertaining needs, looks and price—and only you can decide which factor is most important for your home and family. What kind of care and maintenance do granite counters require? Granite countertops usually are sealed with a non-toxic, food-safe penetrating sealer or impregnator before installation. Depending on the sealant used, it will need to be reapplied anywhere from every six months to every few years. The Marble Institute of America recommends the following regular care: * Clean surfaces with mild, non-oil-based detergent or stone soap * Thoroughly rinse and dry the surface after washing * Blot all liquid spills immediately * Protect counters with coasters, trivets or placemats * Avoid cleaning with abrasive and/or acidic substances such as vinegar, lemon juice, dry or soft cleansers, scouring powders, grout cleaners or tub and tile cleaners

There are so many different materials and brands of flooring—how do I decide which is best? Your primary considerations should be durability, price and looks—especially how the kitchen floor ties into the flooring of adjoining rooms.

Please note that EZ Furniture Assembly & Interior Innovations LLC has provided this F.A.Q. Section just as a guide and not to be held as the only route or even the best possible solution. It was meant to give our customers a better understanding of what all is involved with such a large project. This company was founded by me, Christopher Purnell, several years ago with little more than a few hand tools, a shoebox of overdue bills, and a dream. Today I have one of the city's most popular professional furniture and kitchen cabinet assembly and installation services that was built one customer at a time. Today we offer many services, but our main service will always be customer satisfaction! If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me directly at ccpurnell@msn.com, whether it's about. Not Every Cabinet Needs To Be Replaced. Working in this business for several years I have seen my fair share of perfectly good quality cabinets ripped off the walls and thrown away because the a few doors had some scratches or the cabinets lost their finish, or to some look dated. To be honest, only about 10%-30% of the entire cabinet will actually be seen or for that matter, harmed in any way. Most of the damages and wear happens to the doors. Which are easy to replace and a whole lot cheaper than buying a new kitchen today. We have done facelifts for customers where we would either repaint or stain their existing cabinets and replace the doors and they would swear we put in new cabinets. Below is n example of solid wood doors that we can apply to your cabinets.

We also offer s full line of cabinetry that is made of solid wood and priced fairly low compared to many local retail stores. If you haven't already purchased cabinetry yet, please give us a call and allow one of project managers to show what we have to offer.
